GV-50 Installation

Device Placement

Device placement is the MOST IMPORTANT portion of the installation. If the device is placed in a poor location it could drastically reduce the effectiveness of the device. The best location for installation is beneath the front dash behind the radio or instrument cluster. The unit must be mounted with the label facing the bottom of the vehicle. The GPS antenna is located on the side opposite of the label. Metal will interfere with the GPS signal, the device should not be placed under any metal objects.

Plastic and Glass will not interfere with GPS signal

GV-50 Troubleshooting

Red - Constant power wire. Requires 8V to 32V DC source. It is important that this wire receives a minimum of 8 volts at all times.

Black - Ground. Connect to a solid chassis ground uninhibited by paint or plastics. It is important that you do not use any floating grounds from the vehicles electrical system.

White - Ignition input. Connect to a switched 12 volt source. Example: radio, accessory socket. This connection is used to monitor the vehicle's ignition status. It is important that the switched 12 volt source drops to zero (0) volts while the ignition is off, and comes to twelve (12) volts while the ignition is on.

Yellow - Positive input. Connect to a positive input source. This connection is optional and will alert you when there is a voltage change on this connection. Example: lights activated, tailgate opened.

Green - Output. Connect to a desired output on your vehicle. This connection will allow you to control an object in the vehicle from the web interface. When activated, the wire will become a ground (150 mA max) activating your connect device. Example: ignition or fuel cutoff.

Orange and Grey wires are reserved for future options and should not be connected at this time.
